Hurley is driving and gets pulled over by a cop. I CALL IT – “I bet it’s Ana Lucia…” The cop approaches and there’s Michelle Rodriguez staring back at us. Hurley is communicating with ghosts again and Ana Lucia tells him he still has work to do and “Oh yeah, Libby says hi!”……ZING
Back to the Future, I mean the Past, and Sawyer, Juliet and the rest of the gang are on the beach trying to make a fire. A firewood gatherer actually has lines, and “Neil” is complaining. WHOOSH
Hurley gets an “I LOVE Shih Tzu’s” t-shirt and just misses Kate as she pulls into the gas station. She gets a call from Sun and goes to meet her.
Side NOTE 3 – Aaron should be in a 5 point harness car seat…c’mon Kate, the island needs Aaron alive and well and that shoulder strap is nothing but trouble.
Present time and Hurley shows up at his parents house just as Cheech is about to roll a J- and chill out watching Expose! (Remember Nikki from Season III). Hurley sends his dad out with Sayid to find Jack. Benry shows up at a Butcher shop and his number is 342 (numbers reference). Jill the butcher is down with Benry’s plan and offers to take Locke’s body and put him on ice. There is more than meets the eye going on with Ben. WHOOSH
Back in the past, we are on the beach and Charlotte is experiencing the effects of the phenomenon. All the sudden Neil gets nailed with a flaming arrow in the chest and they run into the jungle. Apparently Maximus and the rest of the Roman Empire are attacking. WHOOSH
Hurley sits down and explains to his mom how “Sayid does his crazy ninja moves and spy stuff” and breaks down the entire first 4 seasons of lost. I laugh out loud.
WHOOSH
Juliet and Sawyer are running through the woods and get captured by 3 soldiers. They threaten to cut off Juliet’s hand, but they are saved by John Locke himself. WHOOSH
Hurley is making a hot pocket when Benry enters his kitchen. Hurley throws the hot pocket at Benry and I laugh out loud again. Hurley thinks Benry’s playing mind games. Ben says, “We all want the same thing…to go back to the island. If you come with me, you won’t have to lie ever again!” Hurley doesn’t believe him and ends up getting arrested.
Still in the present we see a cloaked woman working in a lab. She reminds me of Madam Rosmerta (reference anyone?). There is a strange chalkboard on the table and it’s marking stars on different areas of a map. Ben shows up and says he lost Hurley.
We DO see Ms. Hawking as the cloaked figure reveals her true identity. “70 hours is what you’ve got.” Ben responds with, “but what if I can’t get them to all come back?”
“THEN GOD HELP US ALL!”
BAM END CREDITS.
So what do we take away from the first 2 hours of Season V? It was good, but the time skipping is confusing and I spent more time trying to figure out where/when in time they are instead of enjoying the show. If they are skipping through time, then why did the island disappear at the end of Season 4?
